Social Justice
Due to the nature of social justice movement work and responding to Fort Collins' evolving needs and issues, our work is flexible and ever-changing. Below is a brief overview of some of our past work.
Barrier Busters, Public Transit Action Group (BB/PTAG)
Barrier Busters, Public Transit Action Group (BB/PTAG) was founded in 2001 when a group of low income, disabled community members in Fort Collins came together to advocate for better access to public transportation in Fort Collins and disability justice. BB/PTAG was dedicated to bringing effective and sustainable public transit to Fort Collins while fighting for the dignity and rights of disabled people.
Fort Collins Homeless Coalition (FCHC)
The Fort Collins Homeless Coalition (FCHC) was a former FCCAN affiliate that fought for dignity, rights, and housing for all. We shared food, laughter, tears, and struggle. Our power came from organizing, mobilizing, and acting collectively – by working together, we fought to build a different world.
School Justice PSD
From 2020 to 2022, School Justice PSD worked to eliminate barriers and ensure that every child has access to a safe, nurturing environment where they can thrive.
Through our work, we built access to schools that uplifted and nurtured our students by aiming to abolish all forms of policing, surveillance, and harm while providing quality education, mental health services, and access to holistic care.
