Note that this salon will be held at the Wild Boar Café!

On Memorial Day 2012, President Obama announced the 50th Anniversary Commemoration of the Vietnam War, a 13-year series of events led by the Department of Defense to pay tribute to those who served. This effort was viewed by many as the Pentagon's attempt to rewrite the history of a failed war. In response, Veterans for Peace (VFP) initiated the Full Disclosure campaign as "a clear alternative to current efforts to sanitize and mythologize the Vietnam war." Do we remember? And why does it matter?

This salon will be facilitated by Sue Ellen Klein, peace activist and VFP supporter. She will be joined by Bill Timpson, professor in the School of Education at CSU and Fulbright Senior Specialist, Sustainable Peace and Reconciliation Studies, as well as local Vietnam War veterans.

Salon duc Tape, a public forum sponsored by Strength Through Peace, meets on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month from 7:00 -- 9:00 p.m. The formal program begins at 7:20. The salon on February 10th will be held at the Wild Boar Café, located at1510 S. College Avenue in Fort Collins, instead of at our usual location.
