Please come hear Richard Forer, Author, Breakthrough: Transforming Fear into Compassion -- a new perspective on the Israel-Palestine conflict

Sunday November 20 @ 3:00 p.m.

Foothills Unitarian Church 1815 Yorktown Ave.

Rich will articulate the unconscious roots of suffering and conflict, especially as these roots pertain to the Israel-Palestine problem. He will deconstruct misconceptions and erroneous thinking that dominate the debate over Israel-Palestine.

A former American Israel Public Affairs Committee member, Rich has Orthodox relatives living in Israeli settlements. The following are comments about his book from Rabbi Irwin Lula, President, National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership: Breakthrough is a powerful, disturbing, enlightening must-read for anyone who cares about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and know the present trajectory is a tragic cul-de-sac. Forer eloquently tells the story of the difficult but ultimately life-affirming process of awakening to the suffering of the Other. Read this book if you have the courage to acquire the wisdom to make the leap of empathy required to realize a new politics of peace and reconciliation.
