ACLU Death Penalty Community Conversation

We need you to protect civil liberties in Colorado and join our campaign to end the death penalty. Join us for an evening of food, discussion and activism as we work to end the death penalty in Colorado. This community conversation, we want to hear from you!

First, learn about the death penalty in Colorado with community experts as they give their five-minute pitch on key reasons to end this broken system. Next, engage with your neighbors and directly impacted people at discussion tables and tell us why you support the end of the death penalty. Finally, receive an ACLU activist training on how to use social media to hold legislators accountable, how to write an effective letter to the editor, how to write postcards to legislators and how to advocate on behalf of important issues to legislators at town halls and the Capitol.

The death penalty is an expensive, ineffective and unjust government program that risks making irreversible mistakes by executing innocent people, delays justice for victims’ families, and wastes millions of dollars that could save lives and protect the public. Your direct engagement — by coming together to learn about the death penalty, write postcards, and hold legislators accountable – is what will end this broken system.
